Food Allergies and Sensitivities

People are frequently allergic to many things they eat or drink, often without realizing it. Allergic responses vary in severity. Reactions range from simple fatigue or skin rashes to life-threatening respiratory problems. Eating the same food can cause different reactions at different times depending on a variety of physical and psychological factors.

Unfortunately, many of the foods we crave are those we are allergic to. On average, we eat 20 foods and become overexposed to them, which creates the allergic reaction.

The most common food allergies are:

  • Milk
  • Wheat
  • Corn
  • Soy
  • Chocolate
  • Peanuts
  • Tomatoes
  • Beef

Although sugar is not typically seen as an allergen, it can worsen an existing reaction by compromising the immune system.

A less known but quite common allergy is the “cerebral allergy” that  affects the brain and nervous system. The brain’s plentiful histamine receptors mean that allergens can produce greater havoc  in the nervous system – and brain – than anywhere else in the body.

Symptoms of a “cerebral allergy” include:

  • Cloudiness
  • Mental confusion
  • Sudden awkwardness
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Coma
  • Death (rarely)

If you experience any physical or mental reactions after eating, consider being tested for food allergies. These sensitivities are highly individual, and range from small reactions to large ones. They can be felt right after eating, or even two to three days later. Consider keeping a food journal to write down any physical or mental effects after eating.

Food allergies can also interfere with daily functioning and become a profound stress on your adrenal glands.

Treatment

Calmglow can help you identify and eliminate these food allergies and assist your adrenal glands in their recovery. This is best done with an Elisa IgE food allergy blood draw, which tests 150 common foods.

Once these allergies are identified, Calmglow will help wean you from these foods over 2-4 months. After that time, the food allergy is typically eliminated, and these foods can be carefully reintroduced to the diet.
