When you have responded to each of the 40 categories, transfer the scores to the graph provided.
- Place a dot on the graph with your score from 1-9 for each question. Note there
is a separate line for “No Answer.”
- Connect the dots. You’ll probably see a zigzag pattern.
- Compute your average score. Add all your scores and divide by the number of
categories you answered. Don’t count the categories you didn’t answer.
- Use your average to draw a straight line across the Quality of Life graph at the
point of the average for your scores. If your average is 6, then draw a straight
line at 6 across the entire page.
This average is useful in two ways.
- First, the dots above your average represent strengths and perceived strengths.
The scores below your average represent the challenges, struggles and stresses
you currently face – or feel that you are facing.
- Second, this average usually correlates with your energy level. Those who average
below 5 often experience a low energy state – burnout or depression. Higher
averages indicate high energy and optimism.
Remember not to overemphasize any one score. This snapshot merely gives you a good overall summary of your life. While outlining strengths it also offers great opportunities for growth in areas of weakness.
